Matthew and Corbin spent than a year sculpting their dream wedding pulling us into the stages to preview the visual vibe they imagined. Their ideal was an editorial‑style shoot—elegant, timeless—yet they also craved photographers who could be spontaneous honor each moment and remain virtually invisible throughout the day. Before all the guests arrived for the cocktail we did an unconventional photoshoot by the pool with a magazine oriented approach. It was the perfect moment to create some timeless photos, the kind that it’s usually impossible to do on the wedding day. It was so much fun!
Getting Ready
Guests arrived at Villa Aura del Lago, on Lake Como for the reception—cocktails, by the pool, music drifting in the background and an unmistakable elegance that seemed to settle over everything you looked at. Meanwhile in the room the couple were getting ready sharing laughter and small tender moments before the celebration began. One of the things we love most about same‑sex weddings is this: couples often choose to get ready together. From above the drones footage laid bare just how breathtaking the scene was: the water’s melting, into twilight Bellagio’s lights glimmering, on the horizon and the mountains hugging the lake in a flawless frame. We loved working at Villa Aura del Lago for a few reasons: the area of Bellagio is stunning but it’s not overcrowded so once you are immersed in the ceremony or during the cocktail you get a real sense of privacy and intimacy. The pool in front of the main building was an amazing natural set for an editorial style photoshoot we did with the couple in the morning and the photos look like straight out of a magazine with that Dolce Vita vibes.
