timeless wedding photography in Tuscany

Castello di Montegufoni, nestled in the Tuscan hills near Florence, is one of those wedding venues that immediately feels cinematic yet deeply authentic. Surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and centuries of history, the castle offers an atmosphere that is both grand and intimate at the same time.

What makes weddings at Castello di Montegufoni so special is the way the entire experience naturally unfolds throughout the different spaces of the estate. From welcome dinners in the courtyard to outdoor ceremonies overlooking the Tuscan countryside, every moment feels immersive and beautifully connected to the landscape.

The light here is incredible, especially during sunset, when the warm tones of the castle walls and the rolling hills create a timeless atmosphere perfect for elegant and emotional photography. The architecture itself adds depth and character to every image, blending historic textures with the relaxed feeling of a destination wedding in Italy.

We especially love how couples and guests can truly live the venue during the wedding weekend. The castle feels private, peaceful and full of personality, allowing everyone to slow down and enjoy the experience in a natural and meaningful way. Whether it is an intimate celebration or a multi-day destination wedding, Castello di Montegufoni offers a unique balance between Italian history, refined beauty and genuine Tuscan atmosphere.

kind words

"Serena and Maurizio are true masters of their craft. They are extraordinary artists who captured moments that will be treasured by us, our families, and our friends for a lifetime. We are deeply grateful to have worked with them and recommend them in the highest terms. The photos they delivered are not only incomparably beautiful, but also capture the immense emotion, energy, joy, and love of the entire celebration. They bring a strong artistic vision grounded in storytelling and human connection. Their work goes beyond how the day looked, capturing the feeling and atmosphere of each moment. Their unique style is cinematic yet intimate, dramatic yet sincere, with stunning use of light, color, movement, and detail. They captured both the celebratory moments and countless candid, heartfelt interactions, resulting in a vivid and emotional visual narrative of the day. The expansive, beautifully curated portfolio, delivered in both color and black and white, reflects their exceptional skillset and dedication to their work.

On a personal level, they were an absolute joy to work with.

Warm, thoughtful, and proactive, they connected with us in advance and took the time to understand our vision and personalities, creating a genuinely personal and collaborative process. During the celebration, they were extremely active in capturing a wide range of moments, while never pulling us out of the experience. For this, we are especially grateful, as it allowed us to remain fully present throughout the day. Both Serena and Maurizio bring a deeply kind, fun, and steady presence that we and our guests truly enjoyed and appreciated. We are so grateful to have worked with them and recommend them in the highest terms. Grazie ancora!"

What we loved when shooting the wedding at Montegufoni castle

Creating timeless portraits in the beautiful rooms

Castello di Montegufoni is breathtaking from the outside, with its historic towers, stone walls and panoramic Tuscan landscape creating an atmosphere that feels timeless and cinematic. Yet what truly surprised us was how incredibly beautiful and atmospheric the interiors were as well.

The rooms inside the castle are filled with character, featuring high ceilings, ancient décor, textured walls and elegant details that immediately create a refined and intimate mood. The main room reserved for the bride was especially stunning and became the perfect setting for some editorial portraits before the ceremony. The natural light filtering through the historic windows combined beautifully with the castle interiors, creating images that felt elegant, artistic and deeply connected to the atmosphere of the venue.

For the moment when the bride was putting on her dress, we also introduced a photographic black backdrop to create a more fashion-inspired and contemporary aesthetic.

Doing an intimate photoshoot by the swimming pool

One of the things we loved most about this wedding at Castello di Montegufoni was the opportunity to document a full two-day celebration, beginning with a relaxed welcome party the evening before the wedding. Having more time together allowed everyone to slow down, connect naturally and fully enjoy the atmosphere of the castle and the Tuscan countryside.

The following morning, before the wedding day truly began, we decided to create something a little more unconventional with our lovely couple by the swimming pool inside the castle property.

The contrast between the timeless castle environment and the clean editorial setup worked beautifully, giving the final images a sophisticated and modern feel while still preserving the authenticity of the moment.

The groom’s apartment had a completely different atmosphere, more intimate and understated, with soft indirect light gently filling the rooms throughout the morning. It was the perfect environment for elegant and relaxed portraits, especially for a stylish groom looking for refined yet natural imagery.

Outside, the castle offers endless possibilities for photographs, but the main courtyard was truly one of the highlights of the entire wedding day. As the dinner began and the space came alive with candles, long tables and warm Tuscan light, it transformed into an unforgettable setting for a destination wedding celebration in Italy.

Destination weddings often come with tight schedules and complicated logistics, making it difficult to dedicate time to more creative and intimate portraits. At Montegufoni, however, everything felt effortless and naturally connected because every location was just steps away from the heart of the celebration.

The pool area became the perfect setting for photographs that felt relaxed, modern and spontaneous. The couple looked deeply connected, playful and genuinely in love, with a touch of sensuality that made the images feel honest and alive rather than posed. These moments quickly became some of our favorite photographs from the entire wedding weekend because they captured not only the beauty of the venue, but also the intimacy and freedom that destination weddings in Italy can offer when there is time to truly experience them.
