Timeless Weddings Captured in Italy
Private Villa wedding in Tuscany
Intimate elopement in a tuscan villa, Monte San Savino
Bjorn & Lou
There’s something unforgettable about following a love story all the way to Tuscany, and Bjorn and Lou’s destination wedding in Siena reminded us why why adore being a Siena wedding photographer. These two arrived from Germany with a quiet elegance, the kind of presence that fills a room without trying. And once their families and closest friends gathered around them, the whole day seemed to take on a life of its own.
The ceremony at the Siena town hall was far more emotional than anyone expected. The moment Lou walked in, you could feel the air change—soft breaths held, hands gently squeezing, eyes already shining. By the time they exchanged their vows, there wasn’t a dry eye left.
Their guests didn’t try to hide it either; the tears were open, honest, and full of affection. It felt like standing in the middle of a tight-knit circle of love, where every relationship had its own story to tell. And that deep sense of connection became the thread running through the photos of the day.
After the ceremony, we wandered through the streets of the town for a portrait session. It was early afternoon, that classic Tuscan light blazing as if it had something to prove. Harsh, yes, but in its own way incredibly dramatic. Somehow, Bjorn and Lou turned it into something almost cinematic. They had this magazine-ready charisma—effortless, playful, always touching each other’s hand or shoulder as if they kept forgetting they were being photographed. We found little corners of shade, warm stone walls, and sudden pockets of brilliance that made their portraits feel alive. The city became part of the narrative, a quiet co-star.
Dreaming of an intimate wedding in a private villa in Tuscany?
Chianti - Val d’Orcia
Over the past few years, destination weddings in private villas have become one of the most desired experiences for couples getting married in Italy. After Covid, many international couples started looking for something more intimate, meaningful and authentic — smaller celebrations focused on real connections, beautiful places and quality time with the people they love most.
Tuscany quickly became one of the leading destinations for this new way of celebrating. The countryside around Siena, especially Val d’Orcia, Asciano, Montepulciano and Montalcino, offers some of the most breathtaking private villas in Italy. Perched on top of rolling hills surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and endless golden light, these properties allow couples and guests to fully experience the Italian lifestyle for several days rather than just a single event.
Many couples choose to turn their wedding into a full Tuscan experience: long dinners under the stars, wine tastings in historic wineries, Vespa rides through the countryside, afternoons exploring medieval towns and slow mornings by the pool with family and friends. The Chianti countryside near Florence is another incredible area where guests can discover some of Italy’s most iconic wineries while enjoying the elegance and charm of historic villas and estates.
As destination wedding photographers in Italy, private villa weddings are some of our favorite celebrations to document. The atmosphere is relaxed, personal and deeply emotional. Spending several days together allows us to connect naturally with the couple and their guests, becoming part of the experience rather than simply observing it. This creates photographs that feel honest, elegant and full of life — images that truly reflect the beauty of an unforgettable Italian wedding experience.
